- ➤ KU Jazz and Commercial Music students will present The Dark Side of Oz: Re-Imagined at Liberty Hall downtown on October 29th at 7:30 p.m.—this immersive concert blends classic Pink Floyd tunes with visuals from The Wizard of Oz and honors Ozzy Osbourne with guest guitarist Lucas Parker. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The City of Lawrence will host an Energy Conservation Fair at the Lawrence Public Library at 707 Vermont St.—the event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct 18 and is free to attend. Visitors can learn about weatherization, renewable energy, utility programs and home energy audits while picking up weatherization kits and are encouraged to ride Lawrence Transit. The Lawrence Times
- ➤ Developers plan to rezone a 1.34-acre area south of the Triangle bar district near KU to demolish five buildings and build high-density housing with 48 units—city staff have recommended approval while the historic resources commission reviews design guidelines. The project aims to boost downtown density without annexing more county territory and to address existing fire hazards in the current structures. The Lawrence Times

- ➤ KU's Positive Psychotherapy Clinic doubled its clinicians to provide online mental health counseling across 48 counties as data showed clients experienced improvements as early as their first session.
