Harvesters is highlighting September as Hunger Action Month to draw attention to hunger in its large service area—covering 27 counties in northwestern Missouri and northeastern Kansas.

The food bank plans to encourage local efforts to support those in need as the month continues.

Norman Akers, a KU professor and Osage Nation member, is showing his new exhibition at Temple University in Philadelphia—he paints layered images that ask questions about indigeneity, history and our world.

The exhibit runs from Sept. 5 to Dec. 19 and he will give an artist talk on Sept. 12 with a reception to follow.
