- ➤ Rescue groups are helping lost highway pigs that escape crowded transport trucks by providing specialized care and new homes—Lawrence Humane Society rescued a piglet in June and works with Kansas City Pig Rescue Network to treat injuries, while officials urge anyone finding a jumper to contact a rescue organization immediately. Many of these piglets, which often get injured during their escape, are seen during the current jumper season. KSNT 27
