Renovation delays mean the Lawrence Outdoor Aquatic Center will open Monday, June 1 while the Indoor Aquatic Center will offer extended hours from May 25 to May 31 and splash pads will open Tuesday, May 26.

Lawrence is set to welcome Summerfest 2026 on Saturday, July 4 at the Douglas County Fairgrounds – 2120 Harper St – from 4 to 10 p.m. The free, family-friendly festival will offer live music, interactive activities, roaming entertainers and a large drone show celebrating America’s 250th anniversary and a memorable summer.
