- ➤ Lawrence is set to welcome Summerfest 2026 on Saturday, July 4 at the Douglas County Fairgrounds – 2120 Harper St – from 4 to 10 p.m. The free, family-friendly festival will offer live music, interactive activities, roaming entertainers and a large drone show celebrating America’s 250th anniversary and a memorable summer. - ➤ KU AAAS Fellows met on May 4 to network and welcome three new members (Chris Beard, Jianming Qiu and Michael Wolfe) as Chancellor Girod recognized their contributions; the group will meet semiannually to foster research collaborations. University of Kansas
- ➤ Bishop Seabury Academy held its annual Stepping Up ceremony Thursday evening, celebrating 23 seniors' graduation and welcoming younger classes who shook hands with graduates.
