- ➤ Lawrence Police responded to a call at Free State High School around 12:25 p.m. after a driver reported a person in camouflage carrying what appeared to be a gun; officials later confirmed it was a water gun used in a senior prank and classes resumed at 12:40 p.m. KMBC

- ➤ Lawrence Art Center’s Hang12 members unveiled 32 new art pieces above parking spots at the New Hampshire Street garage on April 28. - ➤ The University of Kansas Libraries hosted the 68th Snyder Book Collecting Contest today at Watson Library, honoring 11 student finalists and awarding cash prizes. - ➤ Seventeen KU doctoral candidates were chosen as Self Graduate Fellows for 2026-2030, marking the program as its largest ever with 67 fellows in fall 2026.
