Lawrence members can collect free seed packets at Public Library’s Seed Library, open 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb.

20-50 residents living in tents near Burcham Park were forced to leave on Wednesday, Feb.
4, when the Kansas Turnpike Authority cleared the area after a private complaint. Many lost belongings and now face uncertainties finding shelter as colder weather arrives (temperatures in the low 30s with windchill).

The University of Kansas School of Music announced the release of the KU Prairie Fire Chamber Orchestra’s debut album—Prairie Fire!—on The Post Haus label.
It is now available on major streaming platforms and features works by composers Libby Larsen, Kirt Mosier, Yukiko Nishimura and Gabe Musella.
🎓 Education
The Center for Service Learning and The Commons at the University of Kansas announced three upcoming Educate & Act sessions this spring online.
The first event on Feb. 17 at 5:30 p.m. will cover nonprofit grant funding, with additional sessions on March 10 and March 24 addressing student senate elections and consumerism.
