Grace Edgar from the University of Kansas School of Music studied how Republic Pictures re-used musical snippets in serials made from 1936 to 1955 in a new article published Tuesday, Dec.
9. Her work shows that creative team methods then are similar to modern film scoring techniques.
The Lawrence school district will add one classroom for 3- and 4-year-olds at Deerfield and Prairie Park elementary schools starting fall 2026 to meet growing demand.
This expansion marks preschools reaching half of the district’s 11 elementary schools.
