  • Eanid is a 5-year-old, 50-pound pit bull in foster care at the Lawrence Humane Society who loves people and especially small children. Her adoption fee is $150 and she is available for adoption at the shelter at 1805 E. 19th St. from noon to 6 p.m. daily — staff help potential adopters meet her and other foster dogs.  The Lawrence Times
  • Just Food announced Friday that it launched a fund using its bulk buying power to purchase food for every pantry in Douglas County.   • A University of Kansas researcher produced the first detailed map of air conditioning usage across the US to show which homes may be at risk during heat waves — she used machine learning and housing data to sort four AC types.
