  • Boulevard Brewing Co. has unveiled three new KU and Mizzou-themed drinks for sale in Kansas and Missouri retail stores and stadiums—KU’s powerfully hop-forward Pay Heed Pale Ale and Crimson and Blueberry Quirk are available now while Mizzou’s Tiger Paw Punch Quirk will debut early next year.  KCTV

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The University of Kansas School of Law announced yesterday that Wagstaff & Cartmell donated $1 million to its scholarship fund, a gift planned to support law students chosen for academic excellence and financial need. The donation reinforces the firm’s longstanding ties to the region — a commitment that will help future attorneys — and starts a broader fundraising effort for new opportunities.  University of Kansas

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • United Way is providing support and essential resources to local residents as the government shutdown continues— the nonprofit said it plans to expand its community services until government operations resume.  KCTV
  • The Kansas Department of Agriculture announced that the FY26 Crop and Livestock Research Grant Program is now accepting applications until Nov. 25 for projects that improve drought tolerant crops, reduce nutrient runoff, and boost water efficiency—applicants can request up to $100,000 per project over a one- or two-year period. The grant is funded by a $450,000 appropriation from the State Water Plan Fund and proposals will be reviewed based on impact and feasibility.  KSNT 27
  • On Oct 23, U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins announced that Kansas Farm Service Agencies resumed core operations, offering essential loan and payment programs to support local farmers affected by the shutdown. All 106 county offices and the Manhattan state office now operate with two employees handling CCC-funded programs (including Agriculture Risk Coverage and Price Loss Coverage) and are beginning to accept applications to alternative programs (such as Guaranteed Farm Loans).  KSNT 27
