A new study from the University of Kansas showed that many people wanted to keep distance from those with mental illness and sometimes even from their spouses — the research used simple vignettes to compare responses for depression, schizophrenia, opioid dependence and alcohol dependence with everyday troubles. The study may help shape plans to reduce stigma in our community.
