- ➤ Lawrence residents can join a No Kings protest on Oct 18 from 5 to 6 p.m. in Watson Park—organized by local groups that require nonviolent action and ban weapons for safety. The Lawrence Times
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ KJHK — the University of Kansas student-run radio station — will celebrate 50 years with four days of events starting Oct. 15, featuring station tours, a silent auction, and local concerts. The station, which has broadcast alternative music and KU sports since its founding in 1975, has provided many students their first media experiences. KSNT 27

- ➤ The University of Kansas seniors Rose Larson, Milwaukee, and Luna Schultz won the Baird Debate Tournament at the University of Iowa from Oct. 11—12. They finished first with 13 of 14 ballots—making them the top speakers against teams from Baylor, Liberty, Michigan State, NYU, USC and UT Dallas. University of Kansas
- ➤ Seventeen University of Kansas School of Law students have been named Dean’s Fellows for the 2025-2026 academic year—mentoring first-year law students with academic support and guidance.
