- ➤ Future firefighters from Topeka and Lawrence competed at the second annual Explorer Games where kids aged 14 to 20 demonstrated skills like forceful entry, gear drills, and search challenges—money from a raffle helped support the explorer program. KSNT 27
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Washburn volleyball swept No. 2 Nebraska-Kearney 3-0 Saturday afternoon with scores of 25–21, 25–13, and 25–14 and strong plays by Alex Dvorak and Keilah Rivers — the team now holds a 17-1 record and will face Central Missouri at 6 p.m. on Thursday at home. KSNT 27
- ➤ K-State's defense helped the Wildcats win 41 to 28 over TCU today after both teams tied early and big plays turned the game—giving them their third win of the season. They are 3 to 4 overall and will play in Lawrence for the Sunflower Showdown on Oct. 25. KSNT 27
