🎭 Culture
On September 11, the Spencer Museum of Art said it completed a $2M challenge grant that brought its Arts Research Integration funds to $5M.
The grant will support new art and research projects—such as a national search for a curator—and help involve KU faculty and students.
🏛️ Government
The City of Lawrence will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 4 p.m. Friday, Sept 19 to celebrate the opening of new multipurpose turf fields at the Youth Sports Complex on W.
27th St.—the project transformed nine former youth soccer fields into three sports fields, with artificial turf available for rental starting Saturday, Sept 20 and a natural grass field expected by late spring.
Kansas Court of Appeals judges will convene in Lawrence on Tuesday, Sept.
