Audio-Reader’s Audio Sale returns to the Lawrence Public Library Sept.
11 to 13, offering vintage and modern audio equipment, vinyl records, musical instruments and more. The event starts tonight with a pre-sale (6:30 to 8:30 p.m.), free entry Saturday and a Sunday clearance from noon to 2 p.m.

Art in the Park will showcase artwork by 125 local and national artists in South Park on Sept.
19 and 20; the event features pieces from artists including Shannon N. Roman, Katrina Davis-Salazar, and local ceramicist Adelai Spears-Kennard (10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday).

KU associate professor Mehrangiz Najafizadeh will teach and conduct research in Azerbaijan in spring 2027 under her third Fulbright U.S. Scholar Award.
She will offer courses and seminars at a leading research institution+ strengthening international academic ties.
The University of Kansas Debate program was ranked No. 1 in a national ranking released on Sept.
10 by American Liberty Media (a leading source on college debate). It held an alumni reunion to honor 14 national championships and will compete in 12 tournaments starting Sept. 12 at Northwestern University.
KU education experts have published a new book that helps women move into leadership roles in schools.
Released on Thu, Sept. 10 in Lawrence, the book offers clear steps to overcome challenges like self-doubt and balancing family needs so educators can advance their careers.
KU alum and NASA astronaut Loral O’Hara will headline KU Reads on Thursday, Oct.
8 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Kansas Union Ballroom, where she will speak with KU faculty and a graduate student about her space experience and answer audience questions.

Businesses and fans in Lawrence are preparing for the first KU–Mizzou football rivalry game in over 20 years — locals will gather near the renovated stadium for tailgating as KU hosts Missouri.
