Good morning, Lawrence.

O’Connell Children’s Shelter held a ribbon cutting Tuesday for Elsie’s Place — a new family service center at 1332 East 1600 Road that offers wraparound care and three beds for kids aged 10 to 18 in crisis; funding came from KDOC, the Kansas Department for Children and Families, and private sources.

A study by the University of Kansas (American Friendship Project) found that people spent less time with friends in recent years, shifting social time to family and home activities.

With National Friendship Day approaching, the report shows that connections remain strong even as priorities change.

TBT announced Tuesday that Marcus Keene has been suspended indefinitely after he shoved an opponent during Monday night’s alumni semifinal at Charles Koch Arena.

The suspension comes after a brawl between KU and Wichita State alumni teams.
