- ➤ Yesterday, KCTV5 reported dangerously hot temperatures are forecast for next week and that the heat may stress expecting mothers while also detailing a shooting in Lawrence that left two dead and one critically injured and another near Penn Valley Park that injured three—highlighting multiple risks in the region. - ➤ Late Thursday night, Lawrence police responded to gunfire at Edgewood Homes on Haskell Ave that left two men dead and a woman critically injured after a break-up led an ex-boyfriend to shoot a man (found in a truck) and then shoot the woman as she fled before allegedly taking his own life. - ➤ Parks & Recreation officials said the department does not remove love locks from the Old Red Bridge — the policy leaves locks in place regardless of community action. KCTV
- ➤ Lawrence Transit will implement bus route and schedule changes on August 1 to better serve riders with routes linking downtown to Central Station and other key stops.
