Lawrence police responded to a shooting at 8 p.m. on July 17th on the 1600 block of Haskell Avenue that left two people dead and one critically injured—authorities have not released further details.

A seminar led by Chris Courtwright, retired chief economist for the Kansas Legislature, will explain property taxes and answer questions for Douglas County residents at Lawrence Arts Center’s 10th and Mass Studios on Saturday, July 19.
