Audio-Reader Network, the KU service for blind, visually impaired and print-disabled people, won three IAAIS awards at a conference in Lawrence on June 13th for its voter guide, magazine program and radio drama.

The awards (Consumer Information/Public Service, Magazines and Dramas) honor its strong work in making audio information accessible.

The City of Lawrence is installing a new cardboard-only dumpster at Douglas County Fairgrounds off Harper St.—it provides free access to recycling and will help reduce the overflow seen at Checkers, Hy-Vee, and Dillons.

Residents are reminded to place only cardboard in the container to prevent contamination.

The Lawrence-Douglas County MPO will hold a Policy Board meeting on July 17 at 3:00 p.m. at the Lawrence Public Library in Meeting Room A plus the meeting will be hybrid with virtual participants able to join after registering by Zoom.
