The City of Lawrence invites homeowners to apply for the CDBG Homeowner Housing Rehabilitation Program, which offers deferred, forgivable loans to low- and moderate-income property owners to repair their homes and meet local building codes + focus on energy efficiency.
Eligible properties must be owner-occupied and meet income guidelines, with loans of up to $24,000 for emergency repairs or $60,000 for comprehensive rehabilitation.
A University of Kansas professor has released a new book today that explores how bigotry is taught and offers seven ways for people to resist it—he will speak about his work online at 10 a.m. CST.
The Watkins Museum of History will host the Foundations of Faith: Early Churches of Lawrence exhibition starting tomorrow and features over three dozen Christian churches founded before 1900 in Lawrence—visitors can see artifacts like an 1857 pew and items loaned from local congregations between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
