- ➤ The Lawrence Humane Society expanded its program so community members can take adoptable dogs out for free adventures, and over 50 people have already taken 41 dogs out since the program launched on June 1. The program supplies all needed gear + aims to send five dogs out each day to ease kennel stress and boost adoption chances. The Lawrence Times

- ➤ The City of Lawrence will host Summerfest 2025 on July 3 at the Douglas County Fairgrounds as a free, family-friendly Independence Day celebration. Local music, an artisan fair starting at 4 p.m., food trucks opening at 5 p.m., and a drone show at 9:45 p.m. will light up the event—updates will be provided if severe weather occurs.
