- ➤ The Lawrence Humane Society expanded its program so community members can take adoptable dogs out for free adventures, and over 50 people have already taken 41 dogs out since the program launched on June 1. - ➤ The City of Lawrence will host Summerfest 2025 on July 3 at the Douglas County Fairgrounds as a free, family-friendly Independence Day celebration.
