Here's your local news at a glance for Friday, the 19th of June.
Good morning, Lawrence.
🏘️ Community
Jasper, a 4-year-old Catahoula mix hound known on Mass Street and campus, is available for adoption at Lawrence Humane Society (1805 E.
19th St). His $150 fee is sponsored and he is house-trained, vaccinated and ready to settle into a routine home.
🎓 Education
WellSpring School of Allied Health abruptly closed its Lawrence campus on June 3 due to financial duress, leaving massage therapy students stranded just days from graduation with questions about transferring credits and eligibility for the licensing exam.
Local education agencies are now working with the students to resolve the uncertainty.

Douglas County Special Olympics will send 10 athletes to compete in swimming, bocce ball, flag football and cornhole at the USA Games in Minnesota starting Saturday, June 20.
