Good morning, Lawrence.

Elderberry blossoms are opening this week (June 8 to 14) as noted in the Kaw Valley Almanac, where Ken Lassman explains how local flowers and fruits can be used for pancakes, syrup, wine and pie, and the woody stems can be turned into flutes.

Game 2 of the Lawrence Super Regional between KU and Oklahoma started more than two-and-a-half hours late today because of heavy rain—officials delayed play waiting for better field conditions.

KU fans braved a rain delay to fill a 100-yard line in a new back yard area to watch their team host its first-ever super regional in Lawrence — a historic moment that saw Jordan Bach hit a homer despite a Game 1 loss.
