CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A 33-year-old Lawrence man, Douglas Adam Speight, was arrested on suspicion of attempted first-degree murder after he fired at least a dozen rounds into a mobile home near 33rd and Iowa on Tuesday night and surrendered after police negotiated with him by phone. KCTV
- ➤ Wanda Dyer, 74, was reported missing from her Lawrence home on March 21 after she was last seen with clear evidence in Eudora, and her husband said her dementia and active nighttime walks may have led people to overlook her as police continue to follow leads—issuing a silver alert on March 25. - ➤ The City of Lawrence is accepting applications for the Affordable Housing Trust Fund to support projects including new development, rehabilitation and accessibility improvements for residents at or below 80% of the area median income—eligible applicants include corporations, nonprofits, neighborhood groups and local government.
