Lawrence Tenants, a renter-led group, will present an ordinance proposal to the Douglas County Commission to guarantee tenant legal representation in eviction cases within the next few months, and they aim to have it on the agenda by August.
The group said the proposal would cover every renter (regardless of income) and comes as the city plans a camping ban that could lead to fines or jail time.
