CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Lawrence detectives are searching for a suspect who stabbed an elderly woman in a house near E. 19th Street and Bullene Avenue just before 1 p.m. Thursday and emergency crews transported her to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. KCTV
- ➤ Lawrence Police responded just before 1 p.m. on May 29 to the 700 block of Beatnik Court where an elderly woman was stabbed and suffered life-threatening injuries—she was taken to an area trauma center while detectives search for any suspect information. KSNT 27

- ➤ Forrest Pierce, a professor at the University of Kansas School of Music, wrote his new piece 'The Bell and the Blackbird' during the COVID lockdown and the Te Deum choir will perform its North American premiere tomorrow and on June 1—this work sets poetic texts to choral music. - ➤ Researchers from KU released a free digital tool—the Sentinel GreenReport Plus—that uses high-resolution Copernicus Sentinel-2 imagery combined with climate data to help users monitor crop and vegetation health across Kansas and the nation, offering insights into drought damage and vegetation recovery.
