- ➤ A would-be robber has been arrested in Lawrence after an employee armed himself and recorded the incident on the patio of Basil Leaf Cafe just before midnight on Sunday, May 25 — police say the suspect, Maurice A. Mahan, 54, was found with a long knife and drug paraphernalia and remains in Douglas County Correctional Facility without bond. KCTV
