GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Douglas County Commissioner Gene Dorsey, who once served on Bert Nash’s board, called for lowering the center’s rent to $1 a year and for using sales tax funds to help cover a projected $3 million loss amid planned staff cuts. He asked Bert Nash’s leaders to meet with commissioners on May 28+ the move aims to secure the center for the community. The Lawrence Times
