- ➤ A Kansas City man (31) was arrested after State Troopers chased his Kia from Edwardsville to Lawrence following an armed robbery just before midnight on May 18; officials deflated his tires near Exit 202 and later located him by drone in the woods near N. 1800 Rd (where he was found). KCTV
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ A documentary film about Sacred Red Rock’s return to the Kaw Nation will screen at Liberty Hall in Lawrence at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 27 + a panel discussion will follow + free admission and light refreshments are offered. The Lawrence Times

- ➤ Free State High School senior Anwen Williams won a national championship in extemporaneous speaking at the National Individual Events Tournament of Champions in Liberty, Missouri over the weekend—she bested 166 competitors and earned premier distinction in the competitive event. - ➤ The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration launched the Click It or Ticket campaign on May 19 and will run it until June 1—drivers in Lawrence may see more police checking for seatbelt use to improve road safety. KCTV
