- ➤ Lawrence police responded to a crash in a field north of Lawrence near Midland Junction after 11 p.m. Friday when a Kansas man, Benjamin Eddie Thomas Brooks, lost control of his white Dodge Ram 1500, was ejected and later died as investigators believe he missed a highway curve while the Douglas Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Team prepares a report. - ➤ A Topeka local died when a Dodge Ram 1500 rolled over near Lawrence on Friday night at 11:00 p.m. on May 9 — the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said the driver, Benjamin Eddie Thomas Brooks, was ejected during the crash and later died from his injuries. KSNT 27
