- ➤ Nearly 180 graduates gathered Friday at Haskell Indian Nations University’s Coffin Sports Complex where Lois Stevens urged them to lean on a strong community to overcome challenges—such as recent federal staff cuts. Haskell Student Government President Angel Ahtone Elizarraras and Haskell President Frank Arpan also recognized outstanding students by awarding special honors during the ceremony. The Lawrence Times
- ➤ Award-winning author John Green will visit KU campus on Sept. 2nd at the Lied Center to launch the 2025-26 KU Reads program featuring his book The Anthropocene Reviewed with a conversation and audience Q&A beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets will be available to KU students from Aug. 18th plus to the general public from Aug. 22nd, and a book signing will follow at 8:30 p.m. University of Kansas
- ➤ KU professor Jeffrey Hall warned that AI chatbots promising friendship might exploit lonely people by manipulating their emotions and finances—he said real friendship requires genuine care and effort rather than a list of behaviors. University of Kansas
- ➤ At the 28th annual Undergraduate Research Symposium held from April 21-25, more than 130 University of Kansas undergraduates presented research across many fields—34 students and three groups earned Outstanding Presentation Awards with a fifty dollar prize for each presentation.
