At a packed graduation at Haskell Indian Nations University’s Coffin Sports Complex Friday morning, keynote speakers reminded about 175 Native graduates that their heritage, language, and traditions empower them to fight for sovereignty (and pave the way for a promising future).

Yesterday, the Haskell community broke ground on the new Greenhouse Educational Complex to boost land stewardship and food sovereignty efforts.

Faculty, students, and board members discussed an upcoming 80-acre donation for prairie restoration & research opportunities with local university partners.

KU Engineering student groups earned several awards during the ASCE Symposium in early April in Carbondale — Concrete Canoe earned first in technical proposal and Hannah Poe won third in a paper competition.

The Steel Bridge team plans to return while KU will co-host the 2027 symposium with Benedictine College.
