🎓 Education
Dr. Donna Sweet, a longtime faculty member and alumna, pledged a $1 million estate gift to KU School of Medicine-Wichita to support the Internal Medicine Program Fund and boost scholarships and training.
The donation was announced Monday, May 4.
Two KU juniors, including Lawrence native Arthur Benson and Gabrielle Bolfing, are competing for an Astronaut Scholarship as part of a program that offers up to $15,000 (award).
The winners will be announced later this spring.
New research from KU published Mon, May 4 shows that older, working students in an engineering program often complete six-year graduation rates while part-time students face more challenges.
The study offers policymakers insights to support post-traditional students.
