- ➤ Shy 38 Inc. Kansas Farm Sanctuary is caring for 28 animals rescued from a Topeka cockfighting ring after police executed a search warrant on May 1. The sanctuary asks for cash donations or to purchase supplies — donors can help care for roosters, hens and chicks that need special accommodations. KSNT 27
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Devonshay T. Hilleland, 26, was arrested in Kansas City on Tuesday for allegedly pulling a gun on a woman in Lawrence on Dec. 30—he was extradited to Lawrence and released on a $5,000 bond—and he will appear before Judge Amy Hanley on May 21. KCTV
