  • Justice Matters will hold its annual assembly Sunday, April 26 at the DoubleTree by Hilton hotel (200 McDonald Drive) to promote a Nurse-Family Partnership program that pairs low-income first-time moms with home visiting nurses to help reduce childhood trauma linked to poverty.  The Lawrence Times

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Fork & Tumbler on Ninth Street in Lawrence will end restaurant service on Saturday, May 2 because road closures from the Jayhawk Watershed Project disrupt access, but it will offer catering and chef services. The restaurant remains open until then at 616 W. Ninth St with six dinner services.  The Lawrence Times

  • KU Bales Choral Society will present its spring concert at 7 p.m. May 3 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church on Bob Billings Parkway.
