- ➤ Douglas County commissioners approved on Wednesday $250K in Heritage Conservation Council grants to fund 22 projects, including a $35K target grant for a Haskell powwow with a buffalo harvest and plans to restore native plant life on local public lands. The Lawrence Times
- ➤ LINK community meals will remain under the Homeless Resource Center’s care, serving home-cooked lunches at First Christian Church on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. - ➤ KU Social Welfare researchers updated SBIRT training materials for health care providers on Thursday, Apr. 16 to help prevent substance use disorders. - ➤ Lawrence’s Historic Resources Commission voted 4-1 Thursday to approve the design for The Place @ KU — an 83-unit apartment complex planned for the Oread neighborhood near KU’s campus.
