- ➤ First responders are fighting a large grass fire in western Douglas County as a burn ban remains in effect — community members are asked to avoid the area near N. 2150 and E. 225 Rd to allow crews to work safely. KCTV

- ➤ A class action lawsuit filed Tuesday alleged that a KU Health physical therapist unlawfully accessed nude photos and personal records of more than 400 patients, with the suit claiming that the data breach compromised patient privacy. KCTV

- ➤ Fifty-two University of Kansas scientists, including current faculty and former researchers, were recognized with the Breakthrough Prize in Fundamental Physics for papers analyzing data from CERN’s Large Hadron Collider. The Breakthrough Foundation awarded the honor for work published between 2015 and 2024, and the prize money will fund doctoral research grants at CERN—an investment that expands future opportunities—.
