On Saturday, April 19, Lawrence will host the annual Wakarusa Wetlands celebration at Medicine Wheel Earthwork — near Haskell — where authors, musicians and artists will perform and visitors are advised to arrive early with a refillable water bottle, a lawn chair or blanket, while a Land Rover will assist those on uneven ground. The Lawrence Earth Day Fair will follow at South Park from 1 to 4 p.m. and an annual cleanup of the Kaw River banks is also planned.
