- ➤ Service industry workers gathered Monday for a special pool night at Empire Pubcade & Venue at 925 Iowa St. The refreshed arcade space features billiards, open mics, trivia and more, giving local workers a chance to bond & unwind after a long shift. The Lawrence Times
- ➤ The police department’s front lawn now features a pinwheel garden that marks its five-year partnership with the Children’s Advocacy Center to protect children from abuse. Residents may take a pinwheel home during April to honor a child in their life. KCTV
- ➤ Today, the Lawrence Times introduced new staff reporter Courtney Lane, a KU journalism graduate, and photo editor Jacob Rice, who brings fast-paced sports experience from Iowa State—enhancing the paper’s local storytelling. - ➤ Today at 7 p.m. a free screening of 'Chasing the Light' at the Lawrence Arts Center kicks off the KU First Nations Student Association cultural series. - ➤ The University of Kansas Law School will host Patent Conference 14 from April 10-11 where patent scholars from 18 institutions will discuss changes in patent law and innovation. The free event also includes a ceremony honoring Dietmar Harhoff for his extraordinary research. University of Kansas
- ➤ University of Kansas research traced how female anglerfishes evolved lures used to attract prey and mates.
