- ➤ The City of Lawrence is hosting the first City Load event of the year at the City Compost Facility on Saturday, Apr. 4 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., where residents must show proof of residency and pay $15 per scoop for City-assisted loading (one-scoop limit enforced until 11th Street clears). - ➤ A new space on Main Street received the name Grandview Station today after residents voted on it, and the project (costing $850,000) nears completion. KCTV

- ➤ The University of Kansas School of Law will honor Judge Dan Crabtree, Steve Leben and Diane Parrish with its 2026 Distinguished Alumni Award (recognizing their professional service) at a private dinner on April 18 in Lawrence. University of Kansas
- ➤ The University of Kansas was ranked 39th among public universities by the National Academy of Inventors last year after securing 31 utility patents from 85 new inventions and 58 active startups. KU’s Center for Technology Commercialization helps turn lab work into real-world products. University of Kansas
- ➤ The University of Kansas will host virologist Vincent Racaniello for a recording of his This Week in Virology podcast on April 3 (3 p.m.) in 1005 Haworth Hall; KU and KSU experts will join him to discuss virus research and answer audience questions. University of Kansas
- ➤ KU nominated four students for Truman Scholarships based on strong records of campus and community service for awards offering up to $30,000 for graduate study (winners will be announced in late April).
