Lawrence’s Environmental Sustainability Advisory Board will ask commissioners to boost funding for its sustainability department in 2027 after its operating budget dropped 89% from 2025 to 2026.

Board members plan to retain the lone employee and meet with other groups to discuss pooling sustainability resources.
