On St. Patrick’s Day, a local band of firefighter bagpipe players and drummers will perform at three Lawrence bars (Red Lyon Tavern at 11 a.m., Dempsey’s Burger Pub at noon, and Johnny’s Tavern at 1 p.m.) to honor tradition while celebrating the holiday.

Lawrence Times is hiring a summer reporting intern to work 20 hours per week in the newsroom and remotely, starting Tuesday, May 26; pay is at least $18 per hour and applications close at 11:59 p.m. March 29+ interested candidates should apply soon.
