- ➤ The Spencer Museum of Art will open two free exhibitions on Feb. 19 showcasing Japanese and Asian American art, including Street Nihonga with 145 works by Jimmy Tsutomu Mirikitani and Brush, Block, and Blood featuring prints from three generations of Yoshida women. University of Kansas

- ➤ KU assistant professor Rahina Muazu released a book presenting new research in Hausa (with English summaries) that explores education and labor challenges for Nigerian Hausa Muslim women.
