- ➤ The Lawrence Times is hiring a full-time staff reporter to cover community news in Lawrence with a salary starting at $41,000 and potential for a monthly stipend for health coverage (applications are reviewed on a rolling basis with interviews starting Tuesday, Feb. 17). The Lawrence Times
- ➤ Lawrence Public Library has launched a DIY Memory Lab for digitizing tapes, films & records next to its local history room. The lab, booked until May, will also host the Discover the DIY Memory Lab event on Wednesday, Feb. 18 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at 707 Vermont St. The Lawrence Times

- ➤ The Kansas House committee has recommended a budget cutting grants at KU, K-State & Wichita State, reducing need-based aid and tying funds to the removal of DEI in courses. The plan also adds funds for the Blueprint for Literacy program while community college aid is modestly revised. The Lawrence Times
