- ➤ Jasper, a 3-year-old Catahoula mix at the Lawrence Humane Society, has been in the shelter for four months and is known as playful and adaptable - fitting for outings and quiet days. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ KU's streamlined test system developed with KU ATS is replacing paper tests for firefighter certification to speed up results and cut costs statewide. The new computer-based platform, piloted in late 2025, allows fire and emergency personnel to take tests on Chromebooks and get certified faster. University of Kansas
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Two Lawrence advisory boards will meet Thursday, Jan. 22 at 6 p.m. at City Hall to discuss asking the commission to replace a 2020 ordinance with a new resolution for climate neutrality by 2050; the boards will take public comments via email until noon and during the session in person or on Zoom.
