- ➤ KU professor Tadeo Weiner Davis received a grant to create a community archive preserving Stand Up KC’s materials + oral histories that capture the fight for better restaurant pay, with the archive housed permanently in UMKC Libraries’ LaBudde Gallery and an exhibition opening today at Charlotte Street Gallery. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Free State High School was honored Friday with a Special Olympics banner that recognizes its work in creating an inclusive space for all students. It is one of three Kansas schools to be named a National Unified Champion School during the basketball game festivities. The Lawrence Times
- ➤ KU announced five Goldwater Scholarship nominees on Friday, including Lawrence’s Free State alum Arthur Benson (a junior in chemical engineering). Winners will be named in late March, with awards covering eligible expenses up to $7,500 annually. The Lawrence Times
