780 Songwriters Circle returns on Wednesday, June 10 at 6 p.m. at the Lawrence Public Library (707 Vermont St.). The free event features local artists Arthur Dodge, Kelly Hunt and Julie Schwarting performing and sharing songwriting stories and will be broadcast on 105 Live.
On Tuesday morning, Special Olympics athletes with Lawrence police carried the torch to Allen Fieldhouse in a five-mile relay through Douglas County, marking the 35th anniversary of the Law Enforcement Torch Run fundraiser that supports Special Olympics programs.
